'World Sight Day'.

 


Under the aegis of Disha- an initiative run by Bowry Memorial Educational and Medical Trust, the students were made aware of various issues relating to eyes on the occasion of ‘World Sight Day'.   An eminent medical expert Dr. Rohan Bowry( M.B.B.S, M.S. F.P.R.S. -Phaco Refractive Surgeon, Innocent Hearts Eye Centre) shared tips for the well-being of eyes.

The session was based on the theme" Love Your Eyes" in which important facts and common eye problems were talked about. The expert Ophthalmologist, Dr. Rohan Bowry,   focused on the need to wear sunglasses so that the eyes can be protected from UV rays. He emphasized that 'Prevention is Better than Cure' so one should take care of the eyes before it's too late.. He concluded the session with a wonderful tip that nutritious food & green leafy vegetables play an important role to keep the eyes healthy

Under 'Disha- An Initiative' (run by Bowry Memorial Educational and Medical Trust), 'World Sight Day' was celebrated in all the five schools of Innocent Hearts (Green Model Town, Loharan, Noorpur Road, Cantt.- Jandiala Road and Kapurthala Road) to make the children aware about visual impairment and blindness and also to promote the importance of vision health. Director CSR , Dr. Palak Gupta Bowry gave important tips to children for eye care and advised them to keep the eyes healthy , add  balanced diet in their routine, reduce  screen time, get regular eye checkups done. Further, she enlightened the children about a remarkable 20- formula, as per which one should focus on something 20 feet away for 20 seconds every 20 minutes as it immensely  helps in relaxing the eyes while watching the screen and preventing damage caused by continuous screen viewing. facebook

Eye & Dental Check-up Camp

  Under the aegis of Bowry Memorial Educational and Medical Trust (BMEMT)  an eye & Dental check up camp was conducted, which offered a valuable opportunity to monitor and protect the students' vision, focussing on the health and well-being of the children  .

'Bestowal to the Best' Annual Function

  The annual prize distribution ceremony 'Bestowal to the Best' was organized under the aegis of  Bowry Memorial Educational and Medical Trust, in which children participated with great enthusiasm.  Mr. Kanwardeep Singh (Chairman, Punjab State Child Rights Protection Commission) played the role of the chief guest and renowned social worker Mrs. Suman Sareen was the special guest.A wonderful cultural program was presented by the students. Orchestra, robotic dance, western dance, fusion ballet and hip-hop dances presented by children enthralled the audience.  Dr. Palak Gupta Bowry (Director CSR) enlightened the audience about the commendable efforts and work being done under 'Disha- an initiative' being run under the aegis of Bowry Memorial Educational and Medical Trust.
