Literary Club of Innocent Hearts made students aware through Street Play on 'World No Tobacco Day'




Under Disha - an Initiative, run by Bowry Memorial Educatiinal and Medical Trust, five schools of Innocent Hearts (Green Model Town, Loharan, Nurpur Road, Cantt.- Jandiala Road and Kapurthala Road) came forward to spread the message - 'Tobacco: A Slow Poison' , on the occasion of NO TOBACCO DAY.  

The purpose of observing this day was to make the people aware of the deadly diseases caused by tobacco-consumption and the dangers associated with its use. The students made remarkable efforts through posters & slogan writing, in order to spread awareness on the negative effects of consuming tobacco on mental as well as physical health.

Innocent Hearts Group, under the aegis of Bowry Memorial Educational and Medical Trust , took out a massive cycle rally from Innocent Hearts Green Model Town, Jalandhar city, celebrating the 75th Independence Day, thereby spreading awareness amongst the society to foster respect for the nation The participants took an oath to have a deep regard for the national flag & to protect the integrity of India and the motherland.  The whole atmosphere reverberated with the slogans of ' Bharat Mata Ki Jai.' Around 600 students and staff members participated in this 'Wheels of Freedom' Cyclothon.  A team of doctors from Innocent Hearts Multi Speciality Hospital were readily available to deal with any kind of emergency.    

“Go Green”- Plantation Drive

    Under ‘DISHA-An Initiative' by Bowry Memorial Educational and Medical Trust, a Plantation Drive was organized with a view to spread the message of planting more and more trees for the protection of nature & preservation of environment. This GO GREEN DRIVE received a massive response from the society whereby the young children contributed their bit by planting saplings of plants that provide oxygen round the clock & having the medicinal value. Also, the children were motivated to keep the blue planet clean & green for a healthier society.

'World Sight Day'.

  Under the aegis of Disha- an initiative run by Bowry Memorial Educational and Medical Trust, the students were made aware of various issues relating to eyes on the occasion of ‘World Sight Day'.   An eminent medical expert Dr. Rohan Bowry( M.B.B.S, M.S. F.P.R.S. -Phaco Refractive Surgeon, Innocent Hearts Eye Centre) shared tips for the well-being of eyes. The session was based on the theme" Love Your Eyes" in which important facts and common eye problems were talked about. The expert Ophthalmologist, Dr. Rohan Bowry,   focused on the need to wear sunglasses so that the eyes can be protected from UV rays. He emphasized that 'Prevention is Better than Cure ' so one should take care of the eyes before it's too late.. He concluded the session with a wonderful tip that nutritious food & green leafy vegetables play an important role to keep the eyes healthy
