Message of Transforming Discarded Plastic Bottles into Green Living Spaces

Innocent Hearts Group of Institutions Spreads the Message of Transforming Discarded Plastic Bottles into Green Living Spaces on World Environment Day

On the occasion of World Environment Day 2026, the Environment Cell of Innocent Hearts Group of Institutions (IHGI), under DISHA – An Initiative, organized a sustainability activity on the theme "Turning Plastic Bottles into Living Green Space."

As part of the initiative, discarded plastic bottles were transformed into planters and used to create a vertical garden on campus, demonstrating how waste materials can be repurposed into green spaces. The activity carried the message, "Reduce • Reuse • Regrow – Transforming Waste into Green Growth," encouraging responsible waste management and environmental awareness.

Students and faculty members actively participated in creating the vertical garden. To sustain the initiative, they were encouraged to collect and submit used plastic bottles to the Environment Cell for future plantation and vertical gardening activities on campus.

Dr. Palak Gupta Bowry, Director CSR of Innocent Hearts, appreciated the enthusiastic participation of students and faculty members. She emphasized the importance of environmental responsibility and encouraged everyone to adopt sustainable practices that contribute to a greener and more sustainable future.

The activity reinforced the institution’s commitment to sustainability and inspired the campus community to adopt eco-friendly practices for a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable future.
