Yoga for “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam”

  Under the aegis of "Disha- an Initiative" run by Bowry Memorial Educational & Medical Trust, on the occasion of International Yoga Day, a session on 'Fitness through Yoga' was organized with a view to promote amongst masses, that Yoga is a spiritual discipline , which helps in bringing harmony between mind and body.. The session was conducted by Ms. Sonia Aeron and Ms. Meena Gupta, certified yoga instructors from Ministry of AYUSH and Sri Sri School of Yoga.  They emphasized that yoga is an art & a science of living a healthy life.  This maintains balance in the body, brings strength and flexibility.  Proper techniques of performing various asanas like Bhujang Asana, Virbhadra Asana, Marakat Asana and Surya Namaskar were taught, thereby focusing on the breathing exercises/Pranayama

'Mera Shehar Mera Maan'

  A seminar on environmental protection under the project “Mera Shehar Mera Maan” was organized by 'Disha an Initiative' run by Bowry Memorial Educational and Medical Trust wherein Mrs. Saroj Kapoor from Municipal Corporation along with her team apprised the audience on   'Eco and Disaster Management'. Complete information as to wet waste, dry waste, and hazardous waste along with the utility of wet waste to make compost was shared with the public. The session was concluded beautifully with much emphasis on RRR (Reduce, Reuse & Recycle)

Literary Club of Innocent Hearts made students aware through Street Play on 'World No Tobacco Day'

Under Disha - an Initiative, run by Bowry Memorial Educatiinal and Medical Trust, five schools of Innocent Hearts (Green Model Town, Loharan, Nurpur Road, Cantt.- Jandiala Road and Kapurthala Road) came forward to spread the message - 'Tobacco: A Slow Poison' , on the occasion of NO TOBACCO DAY.   The purpose of observing this day was to make the people aware of the deadly diseases caused by tobacco-consumption and the dangers associated with its use. The students made remarkable efforts through posters & slogan writing, in order to spread awareness on the negative effects of consuming tobacco on mental as well as physical health.

'Go Green'- Plantation Drive

Under ‘DISHA- an Initiative’ run by the Bowry Memorial Educational and Medical Trust, 'Go Green' Plantation Drive,   was organized on 'Earth Day', wherein the children from all the multiple branches of Innocent Hearts, took out a rally and spread out a message to plant more and more trees for the conservation of nature & protection of mother Earth.   Further, they participated in the plantation drive by planting trees that provide oxygen round the clock & have medicinal value like Tulsi, Aloe vera, and Cactus. Paper bags, gift wrapping from old newspapers were encouraged to save the environment by restraining the use of plastic. The drive was a great success, & motivated masses to keep their own planet: Earth green and clean in order to preserve and conserve natural resources.  

“Academic Excellence Award Ceremony” under DISHA - An Initiative

In an endeavour to support social value system, Bowry Memorial Educational & Medical Trust, Under Disha – An Initiative, organized “Academic Excellence Award” Ceremony. This occasion was organized to motivate and recognize the efforts of the Principals of various schools in the city and the students of class X in academics. For this ceremony, Grade X toppers of Session 2021-22 and Principals of 60 Schools in the city were invited to Innocent Hearts Group of Institutions, Loharan. Dr. Palak Bowry, Director CSR graced the occasion as Chief Guest. Whereas, Dr. Anup Bowry (Chairman) and Mrs. Aradhana (Executive Director of Colleges), Innocent Hearts Group, were the Guests of the Honour for the day. The Trust accorded the Principals of the schools the “Visionary Principal Award” for their achievements in academics. The Chief Guest Dr. Palak stated that it is a matter of good fortune to honour the Principals and top achievers of Grade X of different schools. She stated that this is

'World Sight Day'.

  Under the aegis of Disha- an initiative run by Bowry Memorial Educational and Medical Trust, the students were made aware of various issues relating to eyes on the occasion of ‘World Sight Day'.   An eminent medical expert Dr. Rohan Bowry( M.B.B.S, M.S. F.P.R.S. -Phaco Refractive Surgeon, Innocent Hearts Eye Centre) shared tips for the well-being of eyes. The session was based on the theme" Love Your Eyes" in which important facts and common eye problems were talked about. The expert Ophthalmologist, Dr. Rohan Bowry,   focused on the need to wear sunglasses so that the eyes can be protected from UV rays. He emphasized that 'Prevention is Better than Cure ' so one should take care of the eyes before it's too late.. He concluded the session with a wonderful tip that nutritious food & green leafy vegetables play an important role to keep the eyes healthy

World Literacy Day

With a motto of Swachh, Swasth & Literate India, Bowry Memorial Educational and Medical Trust introduced a literacy campaign in a bid to teach & assist the needy in reading, writing, calculating & learning to deal with day to day bank transactions. Further, books were gifted to the helping staff by students of Literary Club, thereby contributing their bit to spread awareness on the significance of Literacy.  

Innocent Hearts spread the colors of freedom with Cyclothon

Innocent Hearts Group, under the aegis of Bowry Memorial Educational and Medical Trust , took out a massive cycle rally from Innocent Hearts Green Model Town, Jalandhar city, celebrating the 75th Independence Day, thereby spreading awareness amongst the society to foster respect for the nation The participants took an oath to have a deep regard for the national flag & to protect the integrity of India and the motherland.  The whole atmosphere reverberated with the slogans of ' Bharat Mata Ki Jai.' Around 600 students and staff members participated in this 'Wheels of Freedom' Cyclothon.  A team of doctors from Innocent Hearts Multi Speciality Hospital were readily available to deal with any kind of emergency.    

Awareness Session- World Breast Feeding Week

  Under Disha - an initiative run by Bowry Memorial Educational and Medical Trust, Innocent Hearts Multispecialty Hospital arranged a knowledgeable session for the mothers of newborn babies on the occasion of 'World Breastfeeding Week', in order to educate & aware them on the need & benefits of breastfeeding till the age of six months from the child’s birth. The resource person was an eminent doctor who explained that all the family members must create a happy and comfortable environment for the mother to breastfeed her newborn baby.   She also gave some valuable tips to the working mothers to manage their time for breastfeeding.

“Go Green”- Plantation Drive

    Under ‘DISHA-An Initiative' by Bowry Memorial Educational and Medical Trust, a Plantation Drive was organized with a view to spread the message of planting more and more trees for the protection of nature & preservation of environment. This GO GREEN DRIVE received a massive response from the society whereby the young children contributed their bit by planting saplings of plants that provide oxygen round the clock & having the medicinal value. Also, the children were motivated to keep the blue planet clean & green for a healthier society.

TALENT HUNT- Under Disha(An initiative by BMEMT)

  Innocent Hearts College of Education, Jalandhar under the DISHA-An Initiative By Bowry Memorial Educational and Medical Trust (BMEMT),  organized Talent Hunt-2022 on the theme of ‘Go Green’ and ‘Say No To Plastic’. As a mark of social responsibility, Best out of Waste activities were organized by the participants to make the audience learn the art of making creative tools with waste material. The students performed incredibly, thereby giving the message of saving the blue planet. The competition was mainly aimed at spreading awareness towards the development of a greener society.   .

Awareness Campaign by Dr. Palak Bowry on World Cancer Day

  Under DISHA-An Initiative By Bowry Memorial Educational and Medical Trust (BMEMT), organised an Awareness Campaign at Innocent Hearts, on World Cancer Day under the theme “Close the Care Gap” wherein the renowned medical expert, Dr. Palak Bowry had an interactive session with students, highlighting the meaning of care gap & measures to reduce the same by providing equal access of health services to each patient. Further, she enlightened them with various factors which adversely affect the health of cancer patients & motivated the students to stop the discrimination with patients on the basis of ethnicity, education, disability and lifestyle.   The campaign inspired the students to build a society where people lead healthier lives and have better access to health and cancer services.

World Wetlands Day

  DISHA-An Initiative By Bowry Memorial Educational and Medical Trust (BMEMT), the NSS unit of Innocent Hearts College of Education, Jalandhar celebrated World Wetlands Day in order to raise awareness on the vital role of wetlands for species & the blue planet, focusing thereby on the dire need for restoration of wetlands. Many NSS volunteers came forward for disseminating the message of valuing, managing & restoring wetlands . The importance of conserving the wetlands for saving the lives of various endangered species was also highlighted.

Webinar on National Girl Child Day

  With a view to spread awareness about the rights of the girl child, DISHA-An Initiative By Bowry Memorial Educational and Medical Trust (BMEMT),organized a webinar under Disha - An initiative, on the occasion of   National Girl Child Day. A renowned motivational speaker graced the occasion & threw light on the need of gender equality for a healthier Indian society followed by some tips to raise a girl in order to make her strong & independent by facilitating her with quality education and healthy living environment. Further, the audience was enlightened with various government schemes supporting & empowering the girls like “Beti Bachao Beti Pdhao”, “Sukanya Samriddhi Yojna” , “CBSE Udaan Scheme”, and “Dhanlaxmi scheme ” which help the poor families in nourishing their child in a better way.

Book Donation Camp

  With a view to extend support towards the unprivileged & economically poor students , Innocent Hearts Group of Institutions, organized a Book Donation Camp under Disha - An initiative by BMEMT to ensure the contribution for the upliftment & betterment of society, wherein a huge number of students participated with a great zeal and donated gently used books of different streams like Banking, Business Studies, IT Tools, Mathematics, Programming, Operating System & Communication Skills, as their little contribution towards this dignified cause. BMEMT has always been striving towards the betterment of society by endorsing many such social programs under the themes-   Go Green, Swachh Bharat mission, Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, Say no to drugs, Say no to plastic, Go Paperless etc.

International Girl Child Day

  The NSS unit of Innocent Hearts College of Education, Jalandhar celebrated International Girl Child Day in collaboration with DISHA-An Initiative By Bowry Memorial Educational and Medical Trust (BMEMT), to advocate the notion that girls are no less than boys in all the spheres of life.   A drama on the theme of ‘ Solutions to Gender Inequality – ‘Digital Generation, Our Generation’ was enacted by NSS volunteers , throwing light on the strategies to be adopted to equip girls with qualitative education and make their future bright.

Social Awareness Campaign

  A Social awareness campaign through a road rally was organized under Disha-an initiative of BMEMT, in order to create awareness regarding various social issues & key concerns of our society such as Organic Farming, Blood Donation, Beti Bachao Beti Parhao, Tree Plantation, Eye Donation etc. whereby students along with teachers from multiple streams especially agriculture, medical science & Hotel Management participated enthusiastically, thereby covering six surrounding villages (Buddo Pinder, Authola, Khohala, Nijjran, Lallian Kallan, Rampur Lallian) The rally was coupled with the provision of FREE medical services such as Blood Test, Sugar test etc. Also, the local farmers were educated about the need & importance of Organic Farming.                                          

DONATION TO POOR ON DAUGHTER’S MARRIAGE

  The Trust has always been determined and eager to help the needy and deprived, by extending it's social and financial support to serve the society. Acting as a helping hand, BMEMT stepped forward & donated a small amount to the families of poor on the event of their daughter's wedding

BLOOD DONATION CAMP

Blood Donation is believed to be the greatest donation and a noble step in the service of humanity. Moving forward with this view, BMEMT has been organising blood donation camps time and again under the able supervision of medical experts thereby getting an enthusiastic response from the volunteers all over the city and the surrounding villages. The TRUST salutes and appreciates these selfless services by the real heroes.    

BREAST CANCER AWARENESS SESSION

 With a view to develop a healthy society, a webinar on BREAST CANCER AWARENESS was organized under DISHA-An Initiative By Bowry Memorial Educational and Medical Trust (BMEMT),   wherein an eminent medical expert; Dr. Palak Gupta Bowry (M.B.B.S, M.S General Surgeon) shared valuable tips on breast care. Besides this, she also gave remarkable solutions to the misconceptions & fears in the minds of women regarding breast health. The webinar cum interactive session was a great success & theme of the same was highly appreciated.
